Tapta Kunda at Badrinath. The most amazing thing is this whole area is covered by snow but from
this Kunda hot water emanates always.  It is said that Agnidev performed sever penances here to
 gain the favor of Lord Badrinath.

This is Garuda Shila. Garuda performed austerity here. The sandalwood paste
 is prepared here for Lord Badrinath.  

This is Adi Kedareshwar temple of Lord Shiva. One has to take darshan of Lord Shiva
here before taking the darshan of Lord Badrinath.

Marching towards Ganesha and Vyasa gufa (cave)


Last Village of India before China border

Going through Mana Village. This village is known in the vedas as Manibadrapuram.
Its is said that this place was resided earlier by  Gandharavas. 

Ganesha gufa (cave) where Lord Ganesha wrote down 18 Puranas, Srimad Bhagavatam and the
 epic Mahabharata on the request of Srila Vyasadeva.


This is the reference of the talk between Vyasadeva and Lord Ganesha, Mahabharata Adi Parva 1.74

Vyasa gufa (cave), from where Vyasadeva dictated all the Puranas to Lord Ganesha.

This is Bhima Shila. When Pandavas along with Draupadi were going towards Satopanth after the
 departure of Lord Krishna from this planet, river Saraswati was flowing very heavily here so
Bhima put a huge rock to cross over.

Mother Vasudhara. Eight Vasus performed penances here to get the favor of Lord Badrinath.
It is said in the puranas that the water droplets do not fall on the duplicitous person.

together they known as Ganges
